(Scone Palace: July 22nd to 24th)
The biggest and wildest celebration of the music of the 1980s returns to Perthshire for another year! Whether you want a blast from the past or just enjoy listening to the classics, Rewind offers a high energy experience with 27 top acts over the course of one weekend.
This year’s headliners include household names and genuine music legends like Adam Ant and Marc Almond, as well as retro favourites like ABC and Toyah, plus an assortment of acts courtesy of the British Electro Foundation, including The Lotus Eaters, Heaven 17’s Glenn Gregory and Shingai Shoniwa of The Noisettes.
Rewind isn’t just about the music. There’s countless levels of fun to be had, including the silent disco, a range of festival traders with goods from around the world available for purchase, a Kidzone to allow junior festival goers to enjoy the fun, a good old fashioned funfair for thrill seekers of all kinds, and the fantastic firework finale on the closing night. If you’re arriving on the Friday night, you’re invited to the big welcome party, with all the fun of the festival, plus some posh nosh and special guests. Hang around long enough and you may just see a lucky pair tie the knot in the inflatable church (yes, really).
Camping is part of the experience, but if the thought of drudging through mud and trying to figure out how to put up your little shack sends shivers down your spine, why not go glam this Rewind? Glamping (Glamorous Camping) offers an extra special experience for your festival visit, with top quality accommodation and facilities (posh loos!) as well as a pamper parlour, mobile phone charging and an exclusive chill out area. Check out their website for more information but book fast because those tents will disappear quick!
Enjoy a tipple as you listen to your favourite bands and check out the choice of themed bars open over the weekend, including the Big Top Bar, complete with its own range of music and DJs, and exclusive gin, vodka and cocktail bars to suit all tastes. And make sure to eat properly, thanks to a delectable selection of food tents serving posh nosh, including buffalo burgers, bean burritos, exotic ostrich burgers, traditional Scottish butchers’ favourites, macaroni and cheese, and wood burning oven cooked pizzas.
Tickets are still available for individual days as well as weekend and camping for both adults and children. Visit the Rewind website here – http://www.rewindfestival.com/scotland for full information and booking details.
