The Stewart Milne & John Lewis showhome

The Stewart Milne & John Lewis showhome
Next generation of design talent to be on show at Stewart Milne Homes’ Auchterarder showhome

The Community School of Auchterarder is bursting with pride with P5 pupil Eve Gellatly (9) crowned winner of the Stewart Milne Homes Design a Room competition. The homebuilder invited Auchterarder primary school students to stretch their imaginations and showcase their creativity to design their perfect bedroom. Supported by her teachers Eve wowed the judging panel with her fresh take on a contemporary child’s bedroom – novelty bunting, stunning metallic rug, mounted window flowerbox and funky light fixtures were just some of the winning elements of her design.

Eve’s dream room will now be brought to life by the home design team at John Lewis as a highlight of the relaunched showhome at Stewart Milne Homes’ Hunter’s Meadow development. The Noblewood showhome will be unveiled to the public at special events on the weekend of Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 February and Eve will get the first glimpse of the room with a special VIP tour by the John Lewis design team.

Toby Durant, home design advisor, of John Lewis Edinburgh said: “We were thrilled to be part of this competition with Stewart Milne Homes and overwhelmed by the standard of entries received from schools across the region. The future of Scottish and British design is in safe hands with this next generation of creative thinkers.”

Along with the chance to share her design skills with the community, Eve won an iPad mini and a further £300 worth of art supplies for her school, The Community School of Auchterarder.

Mike Sutcliffe, sales and marketing director at Stewart Milne Homes said: “Auchterarder is a vibrant community and we’re delighted to share opportunities for young people to challenge themselves and flex their creative muscles.  Hunter’s Meadow is blessed with stunning surroundings and, with Eve’s help, the home design team at John Lewis have done a wonderful job of incorporating that into the home’s styling. We’re looking forward to unveiling the beautifully re-appointed showhome from Saturday 6 February to give would-be buyers a taste of what life could be like at Hunter’s Meadow.”

Hunter’s Meadow is a collection of 2, 3 and 5 bedroom family homes in the heart of Auchterarder which has fast become one of the area’s most coveted developments. Nestled at the foot of the Ochill hills in the Perthshire countryside, the spacious properties are specifically designed to capture the town’s historic character and quaint style. Designed with family living in mind, community spirit sits at the heart of the development with open green space where neighbours socialise and enjoy the fresh country air. Located only 40 minutes from Glasgow and with Gleneagles train station on its doorstep, Hunter’s Meadow is a commuter haven offering buyers the best of both worlds.

Prices at Hunter’s Meadow start from £189,995.  The immaculate John Lewis showhome is launching for view 11am – 5pm Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 February with Auchterarder’s favourite bakery, Sugar and Spice, proving sweets and treats on the day. Visitors can explore the showhomes, including Eve’s award-winning bedroom and all attendees will receive thank-you gifts to take away.   For more information please contact the sales team on 0845 075 8286 or or online at
